IEF 2012 with USD 58,000 Prize, rumoured playerlist

Wuhan invites for great action in WarCraft III, StarCraft II and League of Legends.

The Committee has announced its prestigious tournament today, which is taking place on November 1st to 3rd in Wuhan, China. This year’s edition is offering , WarCraft III and StarCraft II as disciplines.

International, Chinese and South Korean stars from various games will clash and fight for a total of USD 58,000. In League of Legends we have got both teams of , and Invictus Gaming (iG), besides that we have MVP.White, MVP.Blue and Dug representing South Korea and as a special guest the newly signed team of LGD.International makes its appearance.

When looking at StarCraft II, there are iG.MacSed and .Info as favorites from the Chinese representatives. Neighbor South Korea sends in four lesser known Korean players, namely Ryu Jae Hyoun, Lee Soohyung, Do Youhyeon and Sea Taehee, while in the ‘Rest of the World’ category you can find players such as the Swedish national SaSe.

A little surprise is the choice of adding former Blizzard top title WarCraft III, which is filled with professional playesr such as TeD, Th000, , , ReMinD and Nicker. Interesting to see is that TyLoo’s human player Infi is registered for both the StarCraft II and the WarCraft III tournaments. In last year’s edition Moon took the crown by defeating Lyn in the Grand Finals with a clear 2-0 win.

The prize money distribution looks as following and does not differ from last season;

WarCraft III and StarCraft II

  1. USD 10,000
  2. USD 5,000
  3. USD 2,000

League of Legends

  1. USD 14,000
  2. USD 7,000
  3. USD 3,000

However, the player’s list is not final, yet the names promise great entertainment for the audience, which will at least see nostalgic action in WarCraft III, as most former top-stars are represented and in League of Legends it will be interesting to see how well the Chinese teams will do against the South Korean ones.
