Yoan Merlo Speaks about Departure

As BattleAsia has reported a couple of days ago, that the French player Yoan Merlo, better known as ToD, has left Fnatic after not even 12 months. Many in the scene wondered already why the Frenchman moved out of Fnatic’s newly built team house in South Korea and back to his home country, France. Now approximately a week after the announcement of his departure, Yoan spoke with our colleagues from Definitive eSports about the reasons.

First he described his relationship within the team, which according to him has changed. His team bonding was not as good as it used to be, also saying that he missed the social activities within the team. When asked about not joining a team anymore and finding himself a personal partner, he stated that it would suit him, but he is not confident in the procedure and approach of such companies. As an example we can see former team colleague Manuel ‘Grubby’ Schenkhuizen being supported by his own partners.

Additionally the former WarCraft III Champion was frustrated with Fnatic’s management and vice versa, therefore he himself suggested to part ways and not continues working together. Go on reading the full interview.
